How do online music lessons work?

Students meet one-on-one with their instrumental teacher each week at the same time and day. Music Lessons Barcelona’s teachers usually start on-line lessons by reviewing the previous lesson and going through the student’s homework. After that, instrumental teachers include new songs and techniques and highlight which areas of learning the student needs to focus on.

Our teachers use ZOOM as this app has the best sound quality and allows music lessons to be recorded in video. Parents will need to notify in writing to Music Lessons Barcelona that they give their consent for on-line music lessons to be recorded if that is their wish. This is a useful tool as students can listen and refer to their recorded lessons during their practice at home. Music Lessons Barcelona strongly advises students to install Zoom in their devices for optimum sound quality. What is more, it is important to position the student’s chosen device in a way that the instrumental teacher can see the student’s hands properly and all the position in general. The instrumental teacher can give guidance to the student in order to position the device in the best possible way to achieve that.

Music Lessons Barcelona’s teachers have many on-line teaching resources that share with their students. These additional learning activities will strengthen the content of the online lessons and will work on key aspects such as music notation, rhythm values, intonation, coordination and ear training.

At the end of each month, parents receive a written PROGRESS REPORT from the instrumental teacher. This report aims to summarise the progress the student has made in a month. What is more, the instrumental teacher can use this opportunity to give a few guidelines that can assist students and parents in their preparation for the instrumental lessons.
